(Motorsport-Total.com/Motor1) – Ford is serious about Europe again. At a meeting with European partners and dealers in Salzburg, the US manufacturer presented an ambitious vision for the next three years. It is also urgently needed, as Ford’s market share in Germany is only 3.3 percent. Additionally, the popular Focus will be discontinued at the end of 2025.

The plan is based on seven new vehicles, a digital ecosystem for businesses, and the global brand platform “Ready-Set-Ford,” which revolves around the core values of work, performance, and adventure. This strategy moves on two parallel tracks, aiming not only to defend market share solo in one of the toughest automotive markets in the world but to grow again.
The first pillar strengthens the commercial vehicle division Ford Pro, which has been the market leader in Europe for eleven consecutive years. This range is now complemented by the Ranger Super Duty – the most extreme version of the also eleven-year best-selling pickup in Europe. Designed for the toughest tasks such as emergency services, forestry, mining, and military, it offers a permissible total towing weight of 8 tons, up to 4.5 tons trailer load, and nearly 2 tons payload.
Electric van included
Reinforced suspensions, underride protection, and increased ground clearance are standard. The counterpart for the city is the Transit City: a fully electric van for urban fleets. It will appear by the end of 2026 in three variants – including a chassis version for individual builds – and directly responds to the increase in environmental zones.

The second track revitalizes the passenger car segment with five new models with flexible drive types (multi-energy) by the end of 2029. All will be built in Europe and visually reflect the brand’s over 100-year rally tradition.

Planned are a new European member of the Bronco family, a compact multi-energy SUV (from 2028 at the Valencia plant), a sporty electric car in the B-segment (probably a derivative of the Renault 5), a small urban e-SUV in the same design style, as well as two more multi-energy crossovers by 2029.
Emissions = 0
Despite the clear commitment to zero emissions, Ford warns European regulators: Political requirements must match real customer demand. Too strict deadlines threaten to slow the renewal of existing vehicle fleets.
The manufacturer therefore calls for more openness to transitional technologies such as plug-in hybrids (PHEV) and electric vehicles with range extenders (REEV), as well as targeted support for small businesses suffering from patchy charging infrastructure and slow grid connections for their depots.
