There we have the explanation for Alpine breaking the curfew. The team states: “The team exceeded the curfew last night to continue working on Pierre’s car.”

“As a result, the team took Pierre’s car out of Parc Ferme to change parts and adjust the setup, which means Pierre will start today’s sprint race from the pit lane.”

Max Verstappen will also compete in Formula 1 in 2027. He confirms to De Telegraaf that he will “definitely” be on the grid next year.

“Unless something really crazy happens, but I don’t expect that. I hope everyone keeps their word. But I can confirm that I will stay in Formula 1,” says the Dutchman.

Whether he will also drive for Red Bull then, he leaves open. “I would prefer to stay with Red Bull for the rest of my life, I have always said that,” Verstappen emphasizes.

At the same time, he is “not in a hurry” to make a decision.

No good news reaches us off the track from Switzerland. The Blick reports that Formula 1 legend Alain Prost was robbed in his house in Nyon.

The four-time world champion was reportedly slightly injured during the incident. The perpetrators have not yet been caught. It is unknown what was stolen during the robbery.

Russell and Antonelli will start the sprint later from P1 and P2. However, the polesitter reminds: “One of our biggest weaknesses this year has been the starts. We have focused on improving them.”
