The focus is, of course, on the new MBUX Superscreen – which we already know from other models. But high-quality materials, improved space compared to the predecessor, and practical solutions for everyday use are also among the innovations.
The Cockpit
The cockpit of the new Mercedes GLA follows the current design language of Stuttgart and relies on clear lines and tidy surfaces. The defining element is the optional MBUX Superscreen, a continuous glass surface integrating three displays: the 10.25-inch digital instrument cluster, the 14-inch central infotainment screen, and another 14-inch display for the passenger.

The screen quality is very high, with sharp display and fast response times. The passenger display can be customized and allows the use of special entertainment applications such as streaming services and video games without distracting the driver.
Also unusual is the floating, two-part center console. The upper area contains the storage for inductive smartphone charging as well as the cup holders, while the lower level offers additional storage space for smaller items.
The round air vents take up the design of an aircraft turbine and contribute to a modern and sporty atmosphere.
In terms of operation, Mercedes has shifted most functions to the multimedia system. Only a few physical buttons remain; some climate functions are controlled via touch-sensitive controls below the central display.
Materials and Workmanship
Quality is one of the strengths of the new GLA. Mercedes offers various upholstery options, starting with the Artico synthetic leather, which is also available in a fully leather-free configuration for the Style Line trim.

The higher-quality versions can be upgraded with Microcut microfiber, offered with red or white decorative stitching, giving the interior a sportier and more premium impression.
The standard panoramic glass roof adds additional staging to the interior. At the push of a button, the glass can be electrically darkened, and a total of 172 small light stars are integrated into it.
Space and Trunk
Front legroom increases by 7 millimeters, while passengers in the rear benefit from an increase of 38 millimeters. This naturally extends comfort on longer trips significantly. Headroom also increases by more than 20 millimeters in both rows of seats.
The trunk also grows noticeably. The minimum volume is 410 liters, which is 70 liters more than the previous generation. When the 40:20:40 split rear seatbacks are folded down, the loading volume increases to up to 1,400 liters.
Access to the luggage compartment is facilitated by the large tailgate opening, although the loading edge is slightly raised. For buyers of the fully electric version, there is also a practical front trunk (frunk) with 107 liters, ideal for charging cables or smaller luggage without taking up space in the main cargo area.
