– MotorLand Aragon in Spain is one of the best racetracks for Marc Marquez. He has already won there seven times: 2013, 2016, 2017, 2018, 2019, 2024, and 2025. Last year, he led every single session.

Marquez also started from pole position seven times in Aragon and additionally won the sprint in 2024 and 2025. Ahead of the race weekend, he is considered the big favorite in the MotoGP paddock.
“Marc is the one you have to beat,” says KTM rider Pedro Acosta. “That’s for sure, even though he had difficulties in Silverstone. One corner on this track is named after him.” Corner 10 was already named after him in 2018.
The 5.08-kilometer track consists of ten left and seven right corners. Alongside Austin, Balaton Park, Sachsenring, Phillip Island, and Valencia, it is the sixth track on the calendar that runs counterclockwise.
All these factors fit perfectly with Marquez’s riding style. “Yes, he makes a big difference in all the left corners,” says Fabio Di Giannantonio. “He makes the difference he makes on every track in left corners. He is incredible.”
“I think these are also the types of tracks that naturally suit him. I don’t know, maybe like Mugello or Phillip Island for me. The bad thing is that I don’t manage it as well as he does here.”
“But yes, he rides incredibly well with little effort, so he will definitely be the favorite this weekend. You see his lines, and he is better in the corners. So it’s like: ‘What the hell?'”
Marc Marquez relies on the left corners
Before the summer break, Marquez dominated at Sachsenring with pole position and wins in the sprint and the Grand Prix. Silverstone was difficult with ninth place in the sprint and seventh in the Grand Prix.
Will he now be able to build on his performance from Sachsenring in Aragon? “Yes, obviously we are at a racetrack that I like because of my riding style,” says the reigning MotoGP world champion.
“In Silverstone, I was especially a bit frustrated on Sunday because I didn’t ride as well as I can. I believe my physical condition will be better now because I have built some muscle mass in the gym.”

“It should be better here for the right arm, because of the left corners, plus my special strength in riding style, which is the left corners. I want to be competitive in the next races, but we will see.”

The layout in Silverstone suited Aprilia. Additionally, the RS-GP produces more grip on asphalt with little grip than the Ducati. In Aragon, the situation could turn back in favor of Ducati because the asphalt offers significantly more grip.
“It is obvious that Aprilia has found something this year,” says Marquez about the competition, “because four Aprilia riders are very fast on every racetrack, especially on tracks like Assen and Silverstone with fast corners.”
“Here we have a mix of such corners, and yes, let’s see, but in the end, I feel comfortable with my bike and I know that if I exploit the maximum potential, I can fight for the win.”
Aprilia: Martin and Bezzecchi focus on themselves
In the championship, Marquez is 40 points behind Jorge Martin, nine behind Marco Bezzecchi, and three behind Ai Ogura, who is absent in Aragon due to injury. The two Aprilia factory riders also assign the favorite role to Marquez.
“Certainly Marc is super strong here, we all know that,” says Martin. “For me, it’s just about focusing on what I can control. I can’t control whether he is fast or not.”
“I can control what I do, how I work, and I will try to find the maximum possible speed. If I have the chance to fight, I will take it, and if not, I will get the maximum out of it.”
Bezzecchi, whose left knee still causes problems from the Sachsenring crash, agrees with his teammate’s assessment: “Marc is fast everywhere, but here in a special way.”
“So the best thing is to try to focus on myself and ride as well as possible. At the moment, I am in a different situation than the others, so I just focus on myself.”

The most successful brand at MotorLand Aragon is Honda with seven wins, followed by Ducati with five. Aprilia has never won on this track. Third place by Aleix Espargaro in 2022 is the best Aprilia result.
