Assetto Corsa EVO: EA 0.9 with new features and cars

Special events, mandatory pit stops for multiplayer races, a new tire model for slicks, and a comprehensive improvement for force feedback and input devices as well as further renderer optimizations characterize the new update and give sim racers several reasons to get back behind the wheel after the summer vacation and summer holidays.

With the special events and worldwide online leaderboards, players can complete predefined scenarios under identical conditions (= fixed car, track, conditions, and time of day).

Competitive spirit strengthened with new game mode and mandatory pit stops

In time-based online races of twenty minutes or more, mandatory pit stops are now also possible, with the server administrator able to set the time window for the pit stop.

This means that race pace alone is no longer decisive, but factors such as tire condition, fuel consumption, and timing of the pit stop come into play. Drivers plan their strategy via the MFD and can set the lap of the pit stop, their tire choice, desired tire pressure, and fuel amount.

GT race cars benefit from updated tire model and improvements for force feedback devices

For all GT race cars from Mazda MX5 Cup to Ferrari F40, EA 0.9 introduces an updated tire model for racing slicks that promises a significant advance in consistency and fidelity of the driving behavior model.

For force feedback devices, automatic recovery is now available after a disconnection or “Alt-Tab” for DirectInput, Fanatec, Logitech, and Thrustmaster hardware. The FFB output shaping is now available via a linearization LUT. The haptic audio has been revised: The FullForce DSP works on the filtered signal and Logitech TrueForce has been extended with a 350 Hz low-pass filter as well as a DSP reinitialization when changing the steering wheel rim.
