New Porsche Team: Addition for the GT3 class of the NLS

– Growth in the GT3 field of the Nürburgring Endurance Series (NLS): The Joos Sportwagentechnik team will compete in the remaining four races of the season with a Porsche 911 GT3 R on the Nordschleife. For the racing team from Vöhringen, it is their first own GT3 entry in the “Green Hell”.

The team had already gained driving experience during a test on the Nordschleife last year, and now the race debut in the GT3 class follows. The vehicle will be used in the SP9 Am class. Joos had previously entered Porsche GT3 vehicles in the ADAC GT Masters.

The trio behind the wheel consists of team owner Michael Joos, Fidel Leib, and Marco Lamsouguer. While Joos can already demonstrate Nordschleife experience from entries for other teams and in historic motorsport, Leib is switching to the GT3 vehicle after three years in the one-make cup Porsche. For Lamsouguer, this entry marks the ascent from the GT4 category to the top class of the NLS.

“Since our test last year, we have been working on our own GT3 program on the Nürburgring-Nordschleife,” explains Joos. The direction for the remaining races is clearly defined: In addition to the pursuit of results, the main focus is on collecting data and driving experience to build a foundation for a long-term Nordschleife commitment.”

According to Joos, the fact that the entry is only taking place in the second half of the season was due to priorities earlier in the year: “Our focus this year has so far been on our customer programs in the Peter Auto series.” Only after Leib made contact did the opportunity arise to realize the Nordschleife project at short notice.
