(MST/Speedmaniacs.de) – A demo version of the arcade racing game Screamer, released at the end of March, is now available on PC, PlayStation 5, and Xbox Series X|S, allowing players to get a taste of the anime-aesthetic arcade racer. The demo lets players dive into the first six chapters of the biggest illegal street racing tournament of all time.

Organized by the mysterious Mr. A, it brings together five teams of fearless racers eager to settle long-standing rivalries from their past. Players immediately gain access to the “Downtown Run” track and the Green Reapers team, former private military contractors looking to redefine their identity. As the tournament progresses, players also unlock Lavinia from the Jupiter Stormers and two more tracks: “The Port” and “Stadium Olympus.” Like “Downtown Run,” these are located in the futuristic city of Neo Rey, one of four environments featured in the full game.
In addition to main campaign content, the demo also includes two of the six game modes from Screamer, which are also playable in split-screen mode. In Race mode, players can take full control and fine-tune every aspect of the game, enjoying complete freedom and extensive customization options. In Team Races, they team up with other characters in special races where the final placement depends on both the finishing position and the number of KOs achieved. The latter will be the core of the upcoming “Ranked Team Races,” launching on June 18, adding a competitive layer to Screamer’s online experience as a new feature.

With a limited-time promotion applying to both the digital and physical versions, offering a 30 percent discount, the aim is to make it easier for those who enjoyed the demo version to decide to purchase the full version. Currently, the discount is already available for the PC version on the Epic Games Store. The base version now costs 41.99 EUR instead of 59.99 EUR, and the Digital Deluxe Edition is reduced from 69.99 EUR to 48.99 EUR. Discounts also apply to individually purchasable add-ons.
