(Motorsport-Total.com/Motor1) – It’s not every day that a luxury car dealership decides to build a unique supercar – but that’s exactly what Miller Motorcars from Connecticut, USA, has done. Together with automotive designer Jason Castriota, the JC9 was created.

The one-off piece is based on the Porsche Carrera GT, of which 1,500 limited units were built between 2003 and 2006. Visually, the Miller build more closely resembles a vehicle that could have successfully competed in the 24 Hours of Le Mans over 50 years ago. The proximity to the legendary 917 is undeniable.

Last week, the sleek piece celebrated its official debut on the racetrack at Lime Rock Park in the US state of Connecticut. According to an Instagram post, the JC9 is a “handcrafted V10 Supercar with a manual transmission” that was “made entirely of carbon fiber.” From the outside, as already mentioned, the car hardly resembles the Carrera GT. However, that changes dramatically when we look inside the vehicle.

The interior of the JC9 is absolutely identical to that of the donor vehicle. The instruments, the air vents in the dashboard and center console have not been changed. Even the steering wheel looks the same, but has been fitted with a new cover. The Porsche logo has also been removed.

It is unclear whether the GT’s naturally aspirated V10 delivers more power than before. 20 years ago, the 5.7-liter came with 450 kW (612 hp) and 590 Nm of torque at 5,750 rpm. The 1,380 kilogram lightweight from Zuffenhausen accelerated from 0 to 100 km/h in 3.9 seconds. At the time, it cost: 452,690 Euros.

The 917 Carrera GT aka Miller JC9 made its first appearance at the dealership’s 50th-anniversary celebration. There, it was displayed alongside other vehicles designed by Castriota. Sharing the interested glances of visitors with the latest creation were a Ferrari P4/5, a Ferrari 612 Kappa, a Maserati Birdcage 75th, an SSC Tuatara, the Ford Mustang Mach-E, and the Bertone Mantide.

The dealership does not mention a price in the post. Given the base and the handcrafted carbon body, we would estimate a seven-figure sum. It remains questionable whether the one-off piece is even intended for sale. What is certain is that the JC9 could have come directly from Porsche itself many years ago. It’s nice that such cars are still built, at least in small series.
