Russell: Mercedes trusts us

In Canada, George Russell and Kimi Antonelli had several direct duels on the track. The Briton has now made it clear before the Monaco race that he and his teammate will continue to fight each other.

“There’s absolutely no reason to worry,” he clarifies, emphasizing: “We are racing drivers. We push ourselves to the limit on every single lap. And when we race against each other, we also push each other to our limits.”

Of course, it’s “stressful” for the team, Russell knows, “but ultimately you have to trust us. And you do trust us,” he clarifies, emphasizing: “We will continue to fight hard. We know each other’s limits.”

Special design

Don’t be surprised during practice later: Audi is running a special design this weekend. The otherwise red areas on the R26 are yellow this time in Monaco.

This is a promotional campaign for the new Audi supercar. The colors might remind all football fans a bit of BVB. But Audi is actually a partner of FC Bayern …

Las Vegas stays

The first news of the day is already here: Formula 1 will race in Las Vegas until at least 2037. This gives the race one of the longest current contracts on the calendar. More on this here:

Investigation against Norris and Leclerc

Charles Leclerc and Lando Norris have already incurred an investigation before the first session in Monaco. Both were late for yesterday’s driver press conference, which could now result in a penalty.

While there will be no sporting sanction, we will still pay attention to what the race stewards decide. The two hearings will take place today at 10:00 AM and 10:10 AM respectively.
