Series winner

Kimi Antonelli has the best chance today to claim his fifth consecutive Grand Prix victory. He would be only the tenth driver in the history of the premier class to achieve this. More on this in our photo gallery:

Weather

A quick look at the sky, but that will probably be the only one today (unlike recently in Canada), as no rain is forecast for this race Sunday.

It is expected to remain dry all day, which, of course, doesn’t help the drivers starting further back. They will have to try to move forward somehow through strategy.

Formula 2: Victory for Red Bull Junior

Exciting: The Formula 2 main race in Monaco was also just won from P2 – and thus not from pole. Red Bull junior Nikola Zolow prevailed against Ferrari’s Rafael Camara, who started from P1.

Camara led for a long time but ultimately did not see the checkered flag after a braking error in the duel with Zolow. We are curious to see if the series continues in Formula 1 later and if the winner there also comes from P2.

That would then be Max Verstappen …

What happened so far

If you missed yesterday’s Saturday, you still have enough time before the race start to catch up with our qualifying video.

We will also be back tonight, of course, to discuss the Monaco GP live with and for you. It starts at 10:00 PM on the Formel1.de YouTube channel.

Vasseur is back

All clear at Ferrari: After Frederic Vasseur was not fit yesterday, the team principal is back at the track today. Ferrari has not provided more detailed information about his health.

In any case, we are happy that he is back. The Ferraris will start the race from P3 and P4 later.

Formula 3: Victory for Badoer

While Formula 1 will only race in a few hours, Formula 3 has already been busy. The main race there already took place in the morning, and in the end, Brando Badoer prevailed. Yes, that is indeed the son of former Formula 1 driver Luca Badoer.

For Badoer, it was his first victory in Formula 3 – and the first race this weekend that was not won from pole. The sprint race winner started from P1 in Formula 2 and Formula 3 on Friday respectively. (Even if the sprint winner in Formula 3 was later disqualified.)

Badoer “only” came from P2 earlier but took the lead directly at the start.

Pole Lap

To kick off this race Sunday, here’s Kimi Antonelli’s complete pole lap again in the video. And in this analysis, we reveal where he gained the decisive time compared to Max Verstappen.
