(Motorsport-Total.com/Motor1) – This trademark is widely known. Maserati’s symbol, the trident, is one hundred years old this year. The emblem was first used in 1926 on the Tipo 26, which achieved a class victory at the Targa Florio. The design of the logo goes back to Mario Maserati, who was inspired by the Neptune statue in Bologna. Maserati was founded in 1914, by the way.

To mark the logo’s anniversary, various tributes are currently taking place, including a collaboration between Maserati and the watch manufacturer Bianchet from Neuchâtel. The result of this collaboration is the UltraFino Maserati wristwatch, limited to 100 pieces, which features a flying tourbillon.
The design of the watch is technically and visually closely based on the Maserati MCPURA supersports car. The skeletonized dial adopts the structure of the vehicle’s Birdcage-design rims, with the arrangement of the spokes forming a trident motif. The color scheme uses the vehicle’s AI Aqua Rainbow tone to create visual depth on the dial and case.
In terms of materials, the watch is based on the lightweight construction of the automobile: the bridges and main plate are made of titanium, while high-density carbon is used for the case and strap, creating a reference to the torsional rigidity of the vehicle chassis. The tourbillon cage serves as a visual equivalent to the Nettuno V6 engine.

Technically, the watch is based on the Bianchet UT01 caliber. This movement is hand-finished and achieves a flat height of 3.85 millimeters with a power reserve of 60 hours through specific construction features, such as a free-floating barrel instead of a conventional ratchet wheel.

The Maserati MCPURA, which serves as a reference, has a 3.0-liter V6 engine with an output of 463 kW (630 hp). The vehicle accelerates from 0 to 100 km/h in under 2.9 seconds. In parallel with the technical cooperation with Bianchet, the anniversary of the logo was honored in Italy by the issuance of a special stamp.
This is part of the state series “Excellence of the Production and Economic System”. The design of the stamp comes from the Maserati Centro Stile and combines the current version of the trident in the foreground with a background pattern of the original logo from 1926 and the additional lettering “CENTENARIO”.
