Marc Marquez: “A special number”

It was a special weekend, I was fully focused, because as I already said on Thursday: If I still want a chance at the world championship title, I have to attack here. And that’s what I did. The fact is, we have to strike when we feel strong. I am really extremely happy to have achieved ten MotoGP wins here at the Sachsenring. That is a special number. Ai Ogura: “I am very happy”
Ai Ogura (Trackhouse-Aprilia; 2.): “I am very happy about today. Sunday went better than I expected. We can really be very happy about second place. It was really difficult to overtake Raul. But in the end, I managed it. I had a good pace and finished second. There is a lot to take away from this weekend. I am really happy.”
Raul Fernandez: “Never thought I’d make the podium”
Raul Fernandez (Trackhouse-Aprilia; 3.): “I am really happy. I never thought I could make the podium here at the Sachsenring, especially not in the MotoGP class. It is a demanding track. In the first three laps, I didn’t really feel comfortable physically, and in the last three laps, I was at the end of my strength. I am really happy. Many thanks to the team and Gracias, Edu.”

MotoGP: Championship points for both rookies
Also scoring points are the two rookies in the MotoGP field. Diogo Moreira (LCR-Honda) finishes P11, Toprak Razgatlioglu (Pramac-Yamaha) takes the last championship point of the day in 15th.
Between the two rookies come Jack Miller (Pramac-Yamaha), Franco Morbidelli (VR46-Ducati), and Alex Rins (Yamaha) to the finish. For all three veterans, the outlook for staying in the MotoGP field for the 2027 season looks very bleak.

The top 10 are completed by Francesco Bagnaia in P6, Fabio Quartararo in P7, Luca Marini (Honda) in P8, Enea Bastianini (Tech3-KTM) in P9, and Brad Binder (KTM) in P10.
MotoGP: Trackhouse duo on the podium
Behind winner Marc Marquez, Ai Ogura and Raul Fernandez bring second and third place home for Trackhouse-Aprilia. Aprilia factory rider Jorge Martin, like everyone else, raced with the medium rear tire. This was confirmed by Michelin upon inquiry. Martin finishes P5 behind Pedro Acosta.
MotoGP: Record win by Marc Marquez!
Marc Marquez wins! In the MotoGP class alone, this is his tenth Sachsenring victory. This puts him tied with record holder Giacomo Agostini for the most wins in the premier class at one track. The MotoGP legend from Italy triumphed ten times on the street circuit in Imatra (Finland).
As for Marc Marquez, he now stands at a total of 14 victories at the Sachsenring including his wins in the 125cc and Moto2 classes. No doubt who is the “King of the Ring”!

The last lap has begun. Marc Marquez is heading for another Sachsenring victory. In the battle for P5, Jorge Martin is still just ahead of Francesco Bagnaia.

MotoGP: Three laps to go
Three laps to go, Marc Marquez leads by 2.6 seconds over Ai Ogura, who has distanced Raul Fernandez by 1.7 seconds. Fourth is Pedro Acosta, followed by Jorge Martin, who is dueling with Francesco Bagnaia for P5.
MotoGP: Maverick Vinales retires
No crash, but still a retirement for Maverick Vinales. Riding last, the Tech3-KTM rider pulls into the pit lane and retires.
MotoGP: Ogura new second
In the team-internal duel for P2, Ai Ogura passes Raul Fernandez. Thus, the Japanese rider, the newest MotoGP race winner since Assen, is now the first pursuer of Marc Marquez.
MotoGP: Crash of Cal Crutchlow
And now Cal Crutchlow is down too! In Omega (Turn 3), the MotoGP returnee crashed, meaning four of the only 20 starters are now out of the race.
MotoGP: Marc Marquez with two seconds lead
10 laps to go, Marc Marquez at the front of the field has a two-second cushion over the Trackhouse duo Fernandez and Ogura.
At the back of the field, Johann Zarco’s replacement Cal Crutchlow (LCR-Honda) is currently third last, ahead of Toprak Razgatlioglu (Pramac-Yamaha) and Maverick Vinales (Tech3-KTM).
MotoGP: Crash of Alex Marquez
And now Alex Marquez is also in the gravel trap at Queckenberg Curve! The Gresini rider in second place crashed like Joan Mir in Turn 13 and is also out. New second in the race is now Raul Fernandez ahead of Trackhouse teammate Ai Ogura.
MotoGP: Crash of Joan Mir
In the Queckenberg Curve just before start/finish, Joan Mir (Honda) crashed and is out of the race. For him, this is already the seventh retirement in the eleventh Grand Prix of the season – a very different record than that of Fabio Di Giannantonio after his crash a few minutes ago.
