(MST/Speedmaniacs.de) – Four months after the release of the unpolished launch version of Project Motor Racing in November 2025 and 7 regular updates and a few hotfixes later, the racing simulation from Straight4 Studios is now set to really take off with the V2.0 update provided a week ago, featuring improved driving physics, career mode, and more.

Given the large selection of racing simulations vying for the favor of sim racers, this is no easy undertaking. Success or failure is likely to depend significantly on whether those who bought in at the beginning and were disappointed are willing to engage intensively with the game again, and whether new buyers can be found. The announced additional game content could prove to be an ace up the sleeve for Project Motor Racing.
Kicking things off today is the “Japanese GT500 Pack” – view the screenshots and video trailer here – which is included in the Year 1 Season Pass along with four other expansions and is offered individually as part of a limited-time promotion for 8,99 EUR (regular price 9,99 EUR). With the GT500 pack, the development studio promises all motorsport-enthusiast gamers the chance to virtually relive the pinnacle of Japanese GT prototype racing.

For the first time in a simulation, five modern SUPER GT GT500 vehicles – Nissan Calsonic Impul Z GT500 (2022), Honda NSX GT500 (2022), Honda Civic GT500 (2024), Nissan Motul Autech GT-R GT500 (2021) and Toyota GR Supra GT500 (2022) – as well as four vehicles from the JGTC era, including Nissan Skyline GT-R (R34) JGTC (2003), Honda NSX JGTC (2003), Toyota Supra JGTC (2002) and Nissan Fairlady Z (Z33) JGTC (2004) plus the demanding, technical Takimiya Circuit are drivable.
