Skoda Epiq (2026): This is what the 26,000-euro crossover looks like

(Motorsport-Total.com/Motor1) – The salami tactic is also a tradition at Skoda. Here a headlight gleam, there an undercover drive, and a bit of data dropping elsewhere. Therefore, much about the new electric crossover was already known, which takes a bit of the edge off today’s world premiere.

But whatever, now we finally have a complete overview of the car, which shares its technology with the VW ID. Polo and the Cupra Raval, but in its features will probably resemble the still camouflaged ID. Cross more. Even though Skoda is still tight-lipped about the exact range and price, we have an overview of what to expect from the battery and drive. But the most important thing: the new Skoda Epiq finally reveals itself completely without camouflage.

At 4.17 meters, the newcomer parks well below the Elroq. The trunk volume (475-1,344 liters) remains on par as long as the rear seat is up (Elroq 1,580 liters). A small frunk for the charging cable is also on board.

Visually, the Czech carries all “Modern Solid” elements as the first model. This is especially recognizable by the T-shaped daytime running lights (Kia’s Starmap comes to mind). Eight closable air intakes in the front reduce wind resistance and add valuable kilometers. Robust plastic corners and wheels between 17 and 19 inches ensure a sturdy appearance. Altogether, this results in an aerodynamic drag coefficient of 0.275.

Buttons, umbrellas, and lots of pragmatism

Inside, it remains pleasantly operable. Behind the steering wheel sits a 5.3-inch display under a classic hood. The 12.9-inch touchscreen in the center controls the rest. The Epiq also indulges in real buttons in the form of keys and proven control rollers on the steering wheel, center console, and door panels.

The center console swallows small items on two levels. Three designs – Studio, Loft, and Suite – are available. A First Edition based on the Selection trim with extended standard equipment and the most powerful drive is to be ready at market launch. Of course, clever Skoda details are not missing: from the recycled ice scraper to the umbrella in the door, everyday life has been considered. The textile seat covers are also made from 100 percent recycled polyester fibers (PES).

Three power levels and two batteries

Under the sheet metal works the MEB+ platform. Propulsion is provided by electric motors in three stages: Epiq 35, 40, and 55. The base variant is offered with 85 or 99 kW and both come with 267 Nm. The top version with 290 Nm is initially only offered with 155 kW. It is quite possible that an RS is planned at a later date, as exists for the Elroq and Enyaq. The top speed is limited to 150 km/h, or 160 km/h for the top model.

Underneath, an LFP battery with 37.0 kWh supplies the energy. The top version gets a 51.7 kWh battery with NMC chemistry. The electric car always charges AC at 11 kW. At the fast charging station, 50, 90, and 125 kW are possible. For the top model, it takes only 23 minutes to go from 10 to 80 percent. Depending on the configuration, Skoda promises a range of up to 440 kilometers. Additionally, there is bidirectional charging, vehicle-to-load function, and one-pedal driving.

On the road, the Epiq combines a MacPherson front axle with a space-saving compound link rear axle. This provides, as in the ID. Polo, an inexpensive but dynamic driving basis. Disc brakes are used on all four wheels. Assistance systems like Travel Assist 3.0 maintain distance and lane and are supposed to brake at red lights. A camera system and radar sensors help with parking.

The base, the Skoda Epiq Essence 35, is expected to start at 25,900 euros. This version will be orderable at market launch in September. Thus, the Czech also lies in the price range of the ID. Polo and Raval.
