As announced this week, the release has been moved forward from September 24 to September 10, 2026, and Early Access starts already on September 7. This means the exploration of the four freely explorable islands begins two weeks earlier.
Players start their journey in the bustling streets of Wheelswood. This island exudes the energy of a modern metropolis where the challenge is to find the best route through long straights, towering skyscrapers, and narrow side streets. With sandy beaches, green parks, and crystal-clear water, Tentacle Bay offers a more relaxed setting shaped by nature and enriched by rocky landscapes and an archaeological park.
From Wheelwood to Tentacle Bay
Gearville strikes a very different tone and takes players to a rugged desert island full of deep canyons, industrial facilities, huge factories, and heavy machinery. On Drifty Temples, players are transported to a landscape inspired by East Asian aesthetics, where neon-lit streets meet blooming cherry trees, waterways, and ancient temples – all under the watchful eye of a giant dragon. The four islands are connected by the “Launcher,” a teleportation system that allows switching between islands at any time.
The new 1:55-minute trailer emphasizes the variety of available activities in the open game world, with racing being just one of many ways to experience the game. 21 current screenshots show the colorful, vibrant game world spread across several islands.

Variety of Activities
In the “Daredevil” challenges, players can capture special vehicles from traffic and add them to their collection, while in the “Delivery Stunts,” assigned vehicles must be driven to their destination balancing speed and precision.
Every collision causes damage, but successful delivery is rewarded with a Hot Wheels vehicle. In the “Stuntman” activities, the goal is reversed, as players aim to destroy as many objects as possible, while in the “Tourist” challenges, specific photo motifs must be captured.
In “Find the Flame,” the goal is to reach a location as quickly as possible without following a set route. Additionally, players must master a series of stunts with drift zones, boost sections, and speed challenges along the way. Collectibles scattered across the maps encourage exploration and provide long-term replay value.
