– The entry of Monster Energy as the new main sponsor at Aprilia has direct effects on Jorge Martin: The Spaniard has decided to temporarily suspend his long-standing partnership with Red Bull. In the future, he will neither wear the Red Bull logo on his helmet nor on his cap.

Martin has been supported by the Austrian beverage manufacturer since his title win in the Red Bull Rookies Cup 2014 and has been one of the most well-known motorsport athletes of the brand for more than ten years. However, the new sponsor constellation at Aprilia now creates a conflict of interest, as Monster Energy appears as a direct competitor as the team’s title sponsor.
Already at an Aprilia event this Wednesday, Martin appeared for the first time without Red Bull branding and instead wore a plain Aprilia cap. Teammate Marco Bezzecchi, on the other hand, appeared with the Monster logo. He has been part of the Monster roster for years and is considered one of the most important figureheads.
Loyalty despite financial losses
Martin cannot completely avoid the presence of the new sponsor on himself: the brand will be visible on his leather suit and motorcycle in the future, as these advertising spaces belong to the manufacturer or the team.
According to information from the paddock, the 2024 world champion currently has no plans to hold talks with Monster about a personal partnership. Instead, he consciously wants to maintain his loyalty to Red Bull, even though the temporary suspension of the collaboration brings him financial losses.
But from the rider’s environment, it is said that Martin sees the obligation to remain loyal to a long-time supporter like Red Bull especially in such a situation.

The situation strongly resembles that of Marc Marquez. The Spaniard also paused his personal connection to Red Bull after switching to the Ducati factory team, which also works closely with Monster Energy. Despite the sponsorship situation, Marquez also remained loyal to his previous brand.
The trigger for the current development is the new partnership between Aprilia and Monster Energy. The Italian manufacturer will officially present the collaboration this weekend at the Italian Grand Prix. It is planned to run at least until the end of 2028, after the originally planned talks for 2027 were brought forward due to Aprilia’s strong sporting development.
Monster especially expects great attention through the rider lineup. Bezzecchi has been a face of the brand for years. In addition, Francesco Bagnaia will switch to Aprilia from 2027. The two-time world champion is also under contract with Monster and, like Bezzecchi, is part of the VR46 rider academy.
Tense look towards Yamaha
The look at Martin’s future also remains exciting: The Spaniard already has a contract with Yamaha for the 2027 and 2028 seasons. Currently, Yamaha is also closely connected with Monster. However, the existing agreement expires at the end of 2026.
If Monster leaves the Yamaha project, Martin could once again compete with Red Bull branding on his helmet and cap after his switch to the Japanese manufacturer.
