With the current version 1.4.1.3, some changes to the game’s network protocol are reset to the state of earlier versions since launch. “We know that one of the reasons you love LMU is the excellent netcode that allows you to drive closer together than in other games. Although we thought we had fixed the initial feedback in version 1.4.1.0, it is clear that for some users with certain connection types, there is still more to do.

To clear up some technical uncertainties: Most of the data traffic is forwarded just as before version 1.4. However, in certain situations, there seem to be interferences with our recent changes. Regarding the future of RUDP – the project is not abandoned. We still believe this is a positive step regarding connection drop rates (and can solve problems that we could never handle without RUDP), but we still need to work on how this is displayed on your screens.”

For the moment, they will therefore rely on the proven protocols. At the same time, preparations are already underway to conduct RUDP test sessions in the public version of the game and continue working on stability. LMU players will have the opportunity to participate in test events in the coming weeks.
